Brit band TheMusic are here on a promo tour between 10th-13th August behind their second album Welcome To The North, out here on September 20. The Leeds band's first album went gold: they toured here last year on Big Day Out and then returned for a sell out East Coast run of dates. |

Saturday - was accosted by Leese, went to a fabulous birthday party, tried lawn bowling for the first time, i sucked. then went back to said birthday persons house, drank BISON VODKA - IT RULES!!! and is from Poland...have it woth cloudy apple juice! tried Death Disco - it sucked...pizza, rage, bed.
Sunday - uhm, woke up groggy - bummed century wasn't open...went to other dive bar - *note to self* never enter a pub with internal stairs...i STACKED it BIG TIME going up them...i mean come on! that just defies logic (not to mention gravity) ... subsequently little piss pot em is battered and bruised - but happy...and numb..
then proceeded to the cinema - it was a date with Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless mind...Gondry brings such child like accentuations and beauty to Kaufmans most unique majesty in scripwriting...words (yes even my wanky ones) cannot do this film justice... SEE IT!!!!
after flick, went to century - had to coplete the symmetry that is a sydney trip.
fast fwd this morning - neither of our alarms went off. queue rampant running to make it to plane on time...NOT COOL...i got there on time though - so u know...alls well that ends well. or does it. my uncle picked me up. he shouldnt be driving. he camt move his neck. he drives a tank. he thinks taking hairpin corners at 50km/hr is *fun*...erm, hows about no you freak who is related to me!?!?! |

Monday night's APRA awards were the latest battleground in the [0]ongoing controversy surrounding ARIA boss Stephen Peach. For those who came in late, Peach is accused of not being entirely forthcoming about just how many freebie CDs he gets; Immedia's Phil Tripp has called for Peach's head.
According to Tripp, Peach arrived on the night to find a one metre tall inflatable dinosaur in his seat, with a CD of JJJ's coverage of the freebie affair taped to its chest. |

From Go-Quiz.com
i was listening to an afternoon show on the Rdaio, and they had this guy on - the Baghdad Blogger...he is really amazing - he kept a blog of all the stuff that was going down from when the first bomb was being dropped tight up til the end.
ANYWAY everibe thought he was fictitious coz he did it with such abstract aplomb and non reverence - lik e' oh yeah, i dont worry about he bombs anymore, they fade into the background....
but what i thought was funny, it turns out he is an 'alternative' music fan..and here i am expecting an Iraqi dude to think 'alternative' as Shania Twain or something - coz the mainstream is all IRAQI stuff.
as it turns out, there was a malaysian pirate bootlegger who used to get all this wesrern music, and used to tell the blogger guy (sorry, forgot his name) "oh, here's something for you - you'll like it, its not selling well!!!" thast how he used to get new music...
so this guy used to get all this indie alt stuff...turns out, he admitted one of his fave bands is BRMC! hehe - hows that eh?
thought it wouylkd be funny, and Iraqi singing fuck the US gov't as bombs were raining down on his home. he was not at all malicious or political - but intriguing! |

i am actually working! it's ace - i feel i am using my brain in patterns that havent been used in quite some time - I LIKE IT! numerous reasons make me smile: 1) people like my piccies 2) i am writing touring plans 3) i am in a new houise 4) i have seen my great aunt, bro, sis in law, and uncle in the past week: reminding me how much a i adore them...but also how i like to give them back upon appraisal. 5) numeorus business op's from stellar individuals!
my fabulous friends are either - enjoying a break, waiting to party, kicking arse in their prospective jobs/activities or travelling around like mad things...
things aren't rampantly euphoric high (whish is good) just simmering, smouldering smiles. and i think it's sustainible. |
